Charity Fair of Cultures in KNMU

On the initiative of the Student Self-Government Medical University, on May 3, the traditional festival “Culture Fair” was held. This year, the annual cultural and educational event was supplemented by a charity fundraising for pupils of the orphanage No. 3 in the city of Kharkiv.
At the festival, students from 13 countries studying at Kharkiv National Medical University demonstrated the culture of their people. Anyone could see the customs of representatives of such countries as Ghana, Nigeria, Vietnam, India, Lebanon, China, Egypt, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Greece and Ukraine.
The festival was opened by the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute for the Preparation of Foreign Citizens Dmitry Marakushin, who congratulated all the participants of the event. “A very good tradition has developed at the Kharkov National Medical University – holding such a celebration of world cultures, student amateurishness, friendship and mutual respect for each other. The university administration will always and in the future support festivals, will help strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between foreign students and citizens of Ukraine. I wish you all good luck, inspiration, faith in yourself and all the best, ”said Dmitry Igorevich.

Larisa Karpova, Director of the Department of Science and Education of the Regional State Administration, congratulated the participants of the international forum: “Such festivals help popularize the unique cultural traditions of many nations of the world and familiarize themselves with the unique color of the ethnic environment of students who receive education in Ukrainian educational institutions, in particular, at Kharkov National Medical University. Your intention to make this forum charitable is important. ”
Students from Uzbekistan with the support of the Uzbek National Center, as well as the Union of Students of Uzbekistan in Ukraine participated in the exhibition. The coordinator of the Uzbek youth in Ukraine as well as the Chairman of the Union of Students of Uzbekistan in Ukraine Akhundzhanov Khumoyunmirzo thanked the university administration for the organizers of this event and sincerely congratulated all the participants of the event.

Guests of the event had the opportunity to get acquainted with the colorful outfit and try a variety of dishes from the national cuisine of each country. Also during the event you could hear the folk motives of the represented countries and see the national dances.
The festival became a real platform for the intercultural dialogue of the medical university and brought together those who are not indifferent to a good cause – providing charitable assistance to the most vulnerable groups of society.
