TRADE HOUSE OF UZBEKISTAN OPENED IN FRANCE

11

In Paris, the opening ceremony of the first Trade House of Uzbekistan in France was held.

The event was attended by the Minister of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Zh. Khodzhaev, Ambassador of our country in France S. Rustambayev, Chairman of the Board of JSC Uztrade D. Kadirov and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Regions of France P. Cascli.

The main task of the Trade House UzFranceTrade is to promote the export of products from Uzbekistan to the Fifth Republic and other European countries.  To this end, it is envisaged to operate a constantly operating show room with a showroom, where a wide range of domestic products will be presented.

Within the framework of the event, a separate meeting of the delegation of our country with representatives of business circles of France was held, at which issues of promotion of Uzbek agricultural and textile products were discussed.  The parties agreed to actively develop cooperation by supporting entrepreneurs at the state level.

The ceremony was marked by the signing of agreements for the supply of textile products in the EU for 1 million US dollars, as well as the first batch of dried fruits with a volume of 100 tons to the French market.

In an interview with our correspondent in Paris, the Minister of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Zh. Khojayev noted:

– Today non-raw export of the republic is represented in insignificant volumes.  Basically, this is due to the complexity of the output of domestic products to such a demanding market as France.  Our task is to make it as easy as possible by bringing our standards in line with European requirements.  So we will be able to realize the trade potential and meet the demand for fruit and vegetable and textile products from our country.

Representatives of the State Testing Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan at a press conference on Thursday spoke about changes in the procedure of entrance examinations for undergraduate high schools since this year, UzA reported.

As stipulated by the presidential decree on improving the testing of November 16 last year, tests from now on are conducted not in one day, but within 15 days.  It is expected that the number of applicants passing tests will be 57-60 thousand people a day.  Test tests will be conducted from August 1 to August 15 in two shifts for admission to full-time, special correspondence and evening departments.  The first change will begin at 8:00, the second – at 15:00.  The time and date of the tests will be indicated on the pass of the applicant.  Pavilions, college buildings and organizations with high capacity were studied in the areas of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent, with 57 buildings selected.  The smallest of them is designed for 240 places, the largest of them is 6150 seats.  Test materials will be made according to the type of books, testing will be carried out according to educational directions corresponding to a complex of similar objects.  In the book of questions for universities requiring the delivery of three, two or one subjects, respectively, 90, 60 and 30 questions, respectively, will be allocated 3, 2 and 1 hour respectively for their decision and filling in the answer sheet.  A list of education directions has been formed, in which instead of test tests a creative examination will be conducted.  The test results will be announced the day after testing on the website of the State Testing Center.  For this purpose, an agreement was concluded with a company from the USA for the acquisition of two iNSIGHT 150 optical scanners, which read the response sheets promptly.  About 2,100 observers are expected to be attracted to test tests this year.  Seminars were held for them.  Applicants will be admitted to the building after passing identification identification using special equipment and metal detectors.  The process of passing the tests will be under continuous video surveillance.  The parents of the entrants will be able to observe the progress of the testing.  Videos will be stored in the CCT.  To date, the equipment has been completed with a sufficient number of tables and chairs, boards and technical equipment.  The staff of the State Testing Center has been increased by 150 units, and new units have been opened.  The departments of the HCT of Karakalpakstan and the regions have been allocated 35 permanent units.  The admissions committee of higher educational establishments will not take part in the process of test tests, except the chairman and the responsible secretary.  Last year, Tashkent State Law University conducted tests in a new format – the examinations were held simultaneously in six pavilions of Uzexpocentre.  The Tashkent University of Information Technologies used a biometric access control system for entrants at last year’s tests.
